Warnock's teams to go up and down

21 April 2011 08:33
Neil Warnock looked grief stricken recently when his Queens Park Rangers team beat Sheffield United at Loftus Road, but after the week's Championship games he can just about prepare for Premier League football whilst watching his former charges drop to League One. QPR are almost home and dry and it is just a matter as to who goes up with them. It could still be any one of four teams but I wouldn't be putting any money on Swansea the way they played at Burnley.Cardiff are in pole position right now but anything could happen in the remaining four games and Reading, given their incredible run, can't be ruled out by any means. The three that don't make it will be in the play offs with one other and that one other could, and it is only a could, still be us after a six point haul in our two home games. We're still behind Nottingham Forest and Hull on goal difference whilst just two points behind Leeds who are in that sixth place. We've got a chance again, but it will be tough and we will need to go to Elland Road and win I would think if we are to have any chance.Down at the foot of the table, the bottom four played each other. Had Crystal Palace beaten Scunthorpe I think that would have been it with Scunthorpe, Preston and Sheffield United all but relegated. But they didn't and it's opened up. The Blades will go down, absolutely no doubt about that, but there is just enough light at the end of the tunnel to give the other two hope. I still think they'll go down but Palace will need to find at least one win from somewhere. The results from the last week, along with the stats, are shown below with the first Easter fixtures, the league's leading goalscorers and the disciplinary records of each club. The Weekend ResultsFriday 15th AprilNorwich 2 Nottingham Forest 1Saturday 16th AprilBristol City 0 Ipswich 1Hull 2 Doncaster 1Burnley 2 Swansea 1Leeds 2 Watford 2Cardiff 3 Portsmouth 0Middlesbrough 1 Barnsley 1Coventry 2 Millwall 1Preston 3 Sheffield United 1Crystal Palace 1 Scunthorpe 2Reading 3 Leicester 1Monday 18th AprilQPR 0 Derby 0Tuesday 19th AprilBurnley 3 Middlesbrough 1The Weekend StatsBiggest winCardiff 3-0 v Portsmouth (away)Total goals scored34 (22 home - 12 away)Player scoring most goals2Marlon King (Coventry)Keith Treacy (Preston)Highest Attendance30,240 - Leeds v WatfordLowest Attendance12,076 - Preston v Sheffield UnitedTotal Yellow Cards44Total Red Cards7Most cards in a gameCrystal Palace v Scunthorpe (9Y 2R) - Keith StroudThe leading scorers (league only)23Danny Graham (Watford) - includes 1 penalty21Shane Long (Reading) - includes 5 penalties20Grant Holt (Norwich) - includes 3 penalties19Luciano Becchio (Leeds)17Jay Bothroyd (Cardiff) - includes 1 penaltyMax Gradel (Leeds) - includes 2 penalties16Scott Sinclair (Swansea) - includes 5 penaltiesAdel Taarabt (QPR) - includes 6 penalties15Bill Sharp (Doncaster) - includes 4 penaltiesSteve Morison (Millwall) - includes 1 penalty14Andy King (Leicester)13Kris Commons (Derby) - includes 2 penaltiesJay Rodriguez (Burnley)12Heidar Helguson (QPR) - includes 5 penaltiesLewis McGugan (Nottingham Forest) - includes 3 penalties11Matt Fryatt (Hull) - includes 3 penalties & 2 with Leicester)Iain Hume (Preston)Chris Iwelumo (Burnley)Marlon King (Coventry) - includes 3 penaltiesDavid Nugent (Portsmouth)Brett Pitman (Bristol City) - includes 3 penaltiesDavide Somma (Leeds)Hat Tricks (league only)11th Sep3 - Chris Iwelumo - BURNLEY v Preston14th Sep3 - James Coppinger - DONCASTER v Norwich14th Sep3 - James Vaughan - CRYSTAL PALACE v Portsmouth28th Sep3 - Jon Parkin - Leeds v PRESTON30th Oct3 - Jonny Howson - Scunthorpe v LEEDS13th Nov3 - Luciano Becchio - LEEDS v Bristol City27th Nov3 - Grant Holt - NORWICH v Leeds28th Dec3 - Wes Hoolahan - NORWICH v Sheffield United1st Jan3 - Jason Puncheon - MILLWALL v Crystal Palace5th Feb3 - Matt Fryatt - Scunthorpe v HULL15th Feb3 - Connor Wickham - Doncaster v IPSWICH2nd Apr3 - Grant Holt - NORWICH v Scunthorpe2nd Apr3 - Simeon Jackson - NORWICH v Scunthorpe2nd Apr3 - Yakubu - Middlesbrough v LEICESTERDisciplinary Record (all domestic games)ClubYRClubYRBarnsley623Middlesbrough591Bristol City572Millwall616Burnley815Norwich663Cardiff531Nottingham Forest653Coventry645Portsmouth809Crystal Palace798Preston845Derby742QPR646Doncaster473Reading674Hull732Scunthorpe564Ipswich665Sheffield United7010Leeds814Swansea612Leicester523Watford502The Next FixturesThursday 21st AprilIpswich v NorwichFriday 22nd AprilCoventry v Scunthorpe (15:00)Nottingham Forest v Leicester (17:15)Doncaster v Crystal Palace (15:00)Leeds v Reading (19:45)Saturday 23rd AprilCardiff v QPR (12:45)Portsmouth v SwanseaDerby v BurnleySheffield United v Bristol CityHull v MiddlesbroughWatford v BarnsleyMillwall v Preston (17:20)
