Vote for the season's last Goal of the Month

13 May 2011 10:12
Voting is now underway for the Clarets Mad Goal of the Month for April and May. This month there is a choice of nine goals that were scored against Ipswich, Middlesbrough, Derby, Portsmouth and Cardiff. We played nine league games during this period but didn't find the net in three of them; month but failed to score in two of them; the defeats at Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Leeds.Only one goal came in the first three games, scored by Jay Rodriguez in the home defeat against Ipswich, but then things started to improve. We scored nine in the next three games although the two against Swansea, an own goal and a penalty, are not included. There were three against Middlesbrough - form Jay Rod, Wade Elliott and a rare Michael Duff goal. That was followed by four at Derby with the first from Chris Eagles and the Elliott and Chris McCann goals included.Just two goals in the last three games and both at home. The first of them was Eagles' equaliser against Portsmouth, a goal Elliott is trying to claim, and finally the last goal of the season from Jay Rod against Cardiff. So your choice is three from Jay, two each from Eagles and Elliott and one from both Duff and McCann. The voting will run until the end of Monday.Previous Goal of the Month WinnersAug: Chris Eagles v MorecambeSep: Chris Iwelumo v PrestonOct: Chris Eagles v BarnsleyNov: Tyrone Mears v DerbyDec: Jay Rodriguez v LeedsJan: Dean Marney v PortsmouthFeb: Jack Cork v PrestonMar: Jay Rodriguez v Coventry
