Vintage Clarets to play at Colne

A Vintage Clarets side played at Barnoldswick Town in July, helping raise over £1,100 for the Vodkat League club, and now they are set for action at Colne in October. Chris Brass - in the Vintage Claret squadThe game, against Commercial Old Boys Veterans, a team of over 40s who play in the Umbro Veterans Tournament, will be played at Colne's XLCR stadium on Sunday 17th October, kicking off at 3:00 p.m. and the money raised from the game will help both Colne and the Commercial Old Boys Veterans as well as aiding youth and ground development.The Vintage Clarets have confirmed that their squad will include Chris Pearce, Craig Mawson, Nathan Peel, Ash Hoskin, Liam Robinson, Paul Atkinson, Chris Brass, Roger Eli, Robbie Painter, Derek Scott, John Francis, Ian Britton, Graham Lancashire and Andy Farrell.The teams will play for the Bill Heywood Memorial Trophy, in the name of the former Colne chairman, and it is hoped to make the fixture an annual event.Tickets for the game are available from Colne FC on matchdays, from the Crown Hotel in Colne or by phoning 07932 654046.
