Unlikely weekend links

Sunday saw Burnley once again linked with Tottenham full back Adam Smith whilst it was also reported that we had made an offer of £400,000 for Celtic central defender Darren O'Dea. Whilst manager Eddie Howe continues in his attempts to strengthen his squad, and is confident it will be in place for the big kick off on 6th August, it does look as though these links are just Sunday paper speculation. There has, possibly, been some interest in the pair with Smith having previously played for Howe at Bournemouth during last season. However, we shouldn't expect him, or O'Dea, to be Burnley players at this stage.
