Burnley manager Owen Coyle admitted his side's 2-0 victory over Coventry City at Turf Moor had been an 'ugly' victory.
Goals from Chris McCann and Steven Caldwell moved the Clarets to within two points of the play-off places and afterwards Coyle was thrilled with the result, if not the performance.
"Sometimes you just have to win. Win ugly, I think is what they say," he admitted.
"I have to say I didn't think it was one of our most fluent performances, but the result was all-important.
"I thought we deserved to win over the course of the game and if we can keep it tight at the back then we will always score goals.
"That puts us on 50 points and, although there are some big clubs in the Championship, we really believe that if we play to our maximum then we can win games."
