Two more Championship managers go as we welcome West Ham

Congratulations to West Ham United on qualifying for the Championship. They did so with a defeat at Wigan yesterday and then promptly sacked manager Avram Grant shortly before Mark Robins resigned at fellow Championship club Barnsley. It was an amazing turnaround at the Concrete Jungle yesterday; West Ham went 2-0 up and were giving themselves a real chance of avoiding the drop, but Wigan came back to win the game 3-2 and give themselves a chance whilst condemning West Ham to the drop.West Ham immediately asked Wigan for a private room so they could sack Grant who, for a second successive season, has managed to take a team out of the Premier League whilst having players in his squad who are good enough to have had them considerably higher in the table. His was a strange appointment and they've waited until the damage was done before getting rid, and that damage will see us returning to the Boleyn Ground next season for a Championship fixture for the first time since August 2004.Robins' departure from Barnsley followed, but this one is a resignation after he felt he couldn't work under the restricted budget placed on him by the Barnsley board. Robins said: "I am disappointed that I will no longer have the opportunity to continue the club's progress next season."Since taking charge of the club, I am proud to have guided Barnsley from the foot of the Championship to safety last season, and improve on the league position as well as points total this campaign, all on a limited budget."I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Barnsley and I would like to offer my sincere thanks to all the players, my staff who worked so hard to try and bring success on the field and especially the supporters. I wish them and the club every success for the future."Robins' departure from Oakwell means 11 of the Championship managers at the start of the season have left their clubs for one reason or another with two of those clubs, Scunthorpe and Sheffield United, having made more than one change.
