Two Clarets set for FA Cup debuts

Two of Burnley's young players are ready to make their FA Cup debuts this Saturday when Barrow face Tamworth in the fourth round qualifying of the competition. Tom Anderson, expected to play in FA Cup for Barrow

Central defender Tom Anderson and striker Joe Jackson both joined the Blue Square Premier League club in August in loan deals until January. At the time we had granted them permission to play both of them in the FA Trophy and the Lancashire Trophy but had said we wanted to consider the FA Cup situation.

However, this week, with that tie looming on Saturday, Burnley have given permission for both Tom and Joe to play and both will be in Barrow's squad for the Tamworth game which will be played at Barrow's Holker Street.

Anderson is just about certain to start. He's been a regular in the team all season and, according to reports and the views of the Barrow fans, is playing outstandingly well. Jackson has recently been used as a substitute and was able to prepare for the cup tie this week by playing for Burnley in a behind closed doors friendly at Scunthorpe in which he scored.

Should Barrow win on Saturday, in what is a difficult game against the team currently in seventh place in the same league, they will join the clubs from Leagues One and Two of the Football League in the First Round Proper.
