Turf Moor to stage dinner for Gary Parkinson

A dinner will be held at Burnley Football Club in March for former Claret Gary Parkinson as he fights back from the stroke he suffered around four months ago. The dinner will be held in the James Hargreaves Suite on Sunday 6 March, from 5:30 p.m. It is being sponsored by Burnley FC's main sponsor FUN88 and the speakers will be three ex-Clarets from Jimmy Adamson's 'Team of the Seventies', namely Paul Fletcher, Steve Kindon and Mick Docherty.A number of Gary's former Burnley team mates will also be present on the night when an auction will be held. Items include a signed shirt from current England goalkeeper Joe Hart.Gary is showing slight signs of improvement through specialist care and rehabilitation and the proceeds of this dinner, supported by all his clubs, will help towards that.Tickets are priced at £30, or £300 for a table of 10, and can be ordered from Veronica Simpson by EMAIL or by phoning her on 07974 310099 or 01282 700001 (afternoons only).Once again, Clarets Mad wish to send their best wishes to Gary, his wife Debbie and his family.
