Tudgay doesn't come cheap

You might be forgiven for thinking this is a year old news item, from the time when we were doing all we could to wrestle Marcus Tudgay from Sheffield Wednesday to Burnley. Then, it was Wednesday boss Brian Laws who was fighting to keep his player whilst Burnley pursued him and his agent continued to fuel things between player and club.Eventually it was Tudgay himself who said he wanted to stay at Hillsborough, and so he did with that, as far as we were concerned, being the end of the matter. That was until today, when one national tabloid sneaked in our interest in the middle of an article where current Wednesday boss was confirming that none of his players would be sold on the cheap, something he'd said just before we signed Lee Grant for a lot less than they wanted. The main part of the story was of Nottingham Forest's chase to sign Jermaine Johnson but it made reference to Brian Laws being interested in a cut price deal for Tudgay.I suspect it might have just been a filler. There's certainly been no evidence to suggest that we might be interested in him and his is hardly a priority position in terms of squad strengthening.
