Time to vote for September's best goal

10 October 2012 10:47
Burnley scored twelve goals in September and you can now select from ten of them, against Peterborough, Leicester, Derby, Swindon and Millwall, for the goal of the month. August winner Dean Marney

The month's first goal is not included, Gordon Greer's own goal in the 3-1 home defeat to Brighton. In th next game we beat Peterborough. Chris McCann got the first and Junior Stanislas the last in a 5-2 win with the three remaining goals eventually being credited to Charlie Austin.

Austin's third, a penalty, is the other goal not included in the vote, but the other four against Peterborough are there as is Dean Marney's superb strike at Leicester four days later in a 2-1 defeat.

It's then back to Charlie with his brace at Derby and his goal at Swindon, and, after Ben Mee's headed opener against Millwall it is no surprise that Austin scored the last goal of the month, our second in the same game.

That's ten goals to vote for - six from Austin and one each from McCann, Stanislas, Marney and Mee.

The vote, as always, can be found on the front page of the site and also on the VOTING POLLS page, and the voting will run until the end of Friday.

The winning goal will automatically be entered into the end of season Goal of the Season vote in May. Already guaranteed a place is Dean Marney for his goal at Port Vale in the Capital One Cup, Burnley's third in a 3-1 win.
