On the pitch, the honour went to Leon Cort who joined Charlton Athletic on a permanent basis in January after having his contract terminated at Turf Moor.
The now 32-year-old was hardly Mr Popular at Burnley having been signed in the January transfer window in 2010 by new manager Brian Laws. He played regularly for the remainder of the Premier League season but only played a few games last season when Clarke Carlisle was suspended and Andre Bikey injured.
He spent the rest of the season on loan at Preston and this season moved to Charlton, initially on loan. He's played 15 times for them and we can expect now to see him back at Turf Moor next season in a Championship game.
Micky Mellon had to wait at least a day longer than he thought to take Fleetwood into the Football League. They had two midweek home games and a win in either would have secured league football at Highbury for the Fylde Coast club.
They drew 1-1 against promotion rivals Wrexham last Tuesday and then drew 2-2 against Lincoln, who were relegated from the league last season, on Friday. That left them waiting just a bit longer for the inevitable news which came on Saturday when Wrexham could only draw 2-2 at home against Grimsby.
Another former Claret, Glen Little, featured in those two Wrexham games against Fleetwood and Grimsby. Glen started both games, just his second and third starts of the season.
Mellon has been with Fleetwood since September 2008 having previously been involved with the Centre of Excellence at Burnley as a coach. It will be a first ever season in the Football League for them and north of the border next season will see Ross County play in the Scottish Premier League for the first ever time.
They've been led there by Derek Adams, a Jimmy Mullen signing for Burnley, in his second spell as manager. They beat second place Dundee 2-0 on Saturday to clinch the First Division title and now have an incredible twenty point lead at the top of the table.
