Thompson happy with Clarets

Burnley new boy Steven Thompson is determined to make a success of his move to Turf Moor from Cardiff City.

The 29-year-old Scotland international has joined the Clarets after more than two-and-a-half years at Ninian Park, having scored 17 goals in 106 appearances for the Bluebirds in all competitions.

He told The Citizen: "I think it's good to have options, the manager has said that and I think I'll give a different option up front.

"It's difficult to say what you can expect, I'll just try my very hardest, give 100 per cent and hopefully things work out very well.

"Whatever the manager selects I'm looking forward to forming partnerships and settling into the team and giving my all really.

"I'm just delighted to be here eventually and I'm going to give it everything I've got."
