Thompson targets return for "business end" of season
Burnley striker Steve Thompson is aiming to be back for the closing weeks of the season as he prepares to undergo surgery in early March.
Thompson, who scored his third goal of the season in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Cardiff, is facing a spell on the sidelines with an operation to rectify a groin problem scheduled for the start of next month.
"It's important I get it done for my own health," said Thompson.
"Hopefully I won't miss too many weeks and I would like to get back in about it before the end of the season - at the business end."
