Thompson set for St. Mirren
Steven Thompson said, having been released by Burnley, that he was heading back to Scotland and was set to return to the Scottish Premier League where he'd played previously for Dundee United and Rangers. That move looks ever closer with strong suggestions that he's agreed a deal with St. Mirren, the club who made a move for him last January. They admitted at the time that they would look at the situation again in the summer when any chance of a move in the last window fell through with Thommo temporarily back in favour at Turf Moor.Thompson is a Saints fan and last night their local radio station were reporting that it was a done deal although there had been no confirmation from manager Danny Lennon who has remained tight lipped.The other club strongly linked with Thompson has been Hibs.
