Thompson eyes victory at Wigan

The Clarets head for Wigan on Saturday hoping to break their duck at the 16th attempt and climb out of the bottom three, where they are currently three points from safety after the weekend's 2-1 home defeat by Wolves.[LNB]Burnley have collected just single point from the 45 they have contested away from home to date - that came in a 3-3 draw at Manchester City of November 7.[LNB]But Thompson insists a win at the DW Stadium against 15th-placed Wigan is not beyond them, and that would set them up perfectly for the derby clash with Blackburn on March 28.[LNB]He told the club's official website: "We are running out of games and we are going to have to start picking up points.[LNB]"But why can't we go to Wigan and win and get the monkey off our backs with this away thing as well? I think we can go there and win. I don't see any reason why not and then after that, we have got the derby at home."[LNB][LNB][LNB]
