Shrimpers fall to Clarets loss
Shrimps boss Sammy McIlroy handed starts to new signing Laurie Wilson and trialists Mark Hudson, Nick Chadwick and Colin Larkin while Steve Woods was also given a run-out in the second half.
Yet the Clarets illustrated their superior quality when Martin Paterson fired them ahead in the 15th minute and new recruit Steven Fletcher added a second before the break.
Fletcher completed his brace six minutes after the restart to put Owen Coyle's men 3-0 ahead before Larkin pulled a goal back for the Shrimps with a fine finish in the 70th minute.
