Chris Eagles returned to the starting line up for our home game against Sheffield United and immediately picked up maximum points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year with a man of the match performance. Eagles hadn't started a game since the 1-0 defeat at Coventry because of a back problem but was back in top form in this game, scoring our first to equalise a Blades' opener and then setting up Steven Thompson for the fourth in the 4-2 win.He won the man of the match with 46.0% of the vote with Jay Rodriguez, scorer of the third goal, coming second with a 22.7% share. Wade Elliott, very much in form in this game, came third with 10.6% of the vote.It was all the same in the player ratings. Eagles was again the winner with a rating of 8.06 out of 10 and it was the same two players right behind him, Rodriguez coming second with a rating of 7.71 and Elliott taking third place with a rating of 7.46 out of 10.Eagles, therefore, wins the maximum six points towards the player of the year. Rodriguez picks up four points and Elliott two points. Those points have seen second place Eagles close the gap on Jack Cork to twelve points whilst Elliott and Rodriguez move into sixth and seventh positions.Voting is still underway for the Reading man of the match and the poll can be found, as always, down the right hand side of the front page. The voting ends at the end of tomorrow.Clarets Mad Player of the Year61: Jack Cork49: Chris Eagles33: Andre Bikey25: Clarke Carlisle20: Lee Grant19: Wade Elliott18: Tyrone Mears & Jay Rodriguez13: Chris Iwelumo11: Brian Jensen9: Brian Easton & Dean Marney8: Michael Duff & Ross Wallace6: Martin Paterson3: Leon Cort & John Guidetti2: Steven Thompson1: Graham Alexander & Danny Fox
