Sarginson is last 2011 referee

Burnley's home game tomorrow against Hull City will be refereed by Chris Sarginson from Staffordshire and it will be his second Turf Moor game this season.

It was back in August that Sarginson refereed our Carling Cup game against Barnet and he also refereed our 3-2 win at home to Watford last season and I have to say he's caused us no problems in either game.

He was undemonstrative in both games and allowed the players to get on with playing. His performances have given him a rating of 75.05 out of 100 in the RATE THE REF table which has given him tenth place.

Sarginson became a Football League referee at the start of the 2008/09 season having previously been an assistant in the Premier League . A football injury stopped him playing fifteen years earlier which is what prompted him to take up refereeing.

He was into his second season before he was awarded a Championship game and tomorrow's will be just his 13th at this level.

Over the previous three seasons he's averaged approximately three yellow cards per game and nothing much has changed this season although just now he's below that average.

He's refereed 17 games this season in which there have been 44 yellow cards and three red cards. 18 of those yellow cards have gone to home team players with 26 to away team players.

His last Championship game was Bristol City's 2-0 win against Southampton in November whilst his last game was the League One clash between Oldham and Hartlepool on Boxing Day at Boundary Park. The game ended in a 1-0 win for Hartlepool and it was a game in which the referee kept his cards in his pocket.

The assistant referees are Scott Oldham and Jeremy Simpson (both Lancashire). The fourth official is Gary Stott (Manchester).
