Rodriguez takes first place in Middlesbrough win
Burnley certainly returned to form last Tuesday with a 3-1 win against Middlesbrough and it was Jay Rodriguez who was voted our best player in both the man of the match and the player ratings. He scored the goal that gave us the lead midway through the first half, a lead that was doubled within a minute by Wade Elliott, and he turned in an excellent all round performance.He picked up 35.5% of the man of the match vote to take first place ahead of Dean Marney who had 21.8% for second place. Wade Elliott was third with a 13.2% share.Danny Fox was fourth in the man of the match vote but he and Elliott swapped places in the player ratings with the top two remaining the same. Jay's rating of 8.64 out of 10 gave him first place with Marney again right behind with a rating of 8.32. Fox and Elliott both had ratings over 8 but it was Fox who took the third place with a rating of 8.11 out of 10.That gives Jay the maximum six points in the Player of the Year Table, Marney wins four points and there is one point each for Elliott and Fox.With neither of the top two picking up points there are no changes at the top but Jay Rod has now moved eight points clear of Andre Bikey in third place. Elliott is now joint sixth whilst the points for Marney and Fox have not changed their position in the table.Voting is currently ongoing for the man of the match from Saturday's 4-2 win at Derby.
