Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez has expressed his delight at being named in the provisional England squad for the European Under-21 Championship finals in June. The Burnley-born frontman has been named by England coach Stuart Pearce in an initial 40-man party for the tournament in Denmark. Rodriguez's inclusion follows an initial call-up in February when he won his first international cap as a substitute in a friendly defeat in Italy. The 21-year-old, who has scored 14 times this season, said: "It's fantastic to be included. "Being involved with England is what you always think of growing up. "I am not building my hopes up about going to the finals. It's just nice to be thought of at this stage, but if I did go it would be a great tournament to be involved in."
