Burnley striker Jay Rodriguez has hailed his England Under-21 debut as a "great experience". Rodriguez won his first international cap after coming off the bench in Italy on Tuesday. The homegrown frontman replaced James Vaughan after an hour of the friendly that Italy won 1-0 in Empoli. "It was a great experience all-round," Rodriguez told Clarets Player. "It felt good to be part of it and with the players who are there. You look around and all of them are great players. "I was dying to get on. I was a bit nervous when he (Stuart Pearce) called me over and when I went on but it was a proud moment and I will always keep that. "I got quite a bit of time on the pitch and enjoyed every minute of it when I went on. It was a tough game but the experience was massive for me."
