Road and walkway closures for Cardiff game

02 May 2011 15:20
Parts of Harry Potts Way and Belvedere Road will close on Saturday from half time during the last game of the season against Cardiff City. The closures are being made to accommodate the large number of coaches carrying Cardiff City supporters to and from the game whilst it is envisaged there will be a delaying in opening the car parks with vehicles being held back for approximately one hour.Although there is no confirmation of how much of the roads are closed I've assumed it is Harry Potts Way, from the Wellington traffic lights to the first set of turnstiles, and Belvedere Road from the Wellington traffic lights to the cricket ground entrance.Supporters, who would normally use the closed areas of road as pedestrians are asked to leave by the following routes.Leaving from the Bob Lord Stand or the corner by the club shopThis is via Higgin Street (to Park View Chippy) and then right into Helena Street to Todmorden Road.Leaving via Ormerod Road (alongside cricket ground)This is via Ridge Road (across Belvedere Road, turn right and then take the first left) and then left into Albert Street to Yorkshire Street.
