Ralph Coates to be remembered

Former Claret Ralph Coates, who sadly and suddenly passed away last month, is to be remembered tomorrow at a memorial service and through a charity foundation in his name. Ralph passed away at the age of 64 on 17th December having suffered two strokes and tomorrow a memorial service will take place at St. Stephen's Church in Bush Hill Park, Enfield, starting at 1:30 p.m.Former team mates from both Burnley and Spurs will be there to celebrate Ralph's life and his son Paul said: "The family would like to thank all the hundreds of people who have sent messages of condolence and we hope they can join us to celebrate his life."Burnley supporters will be represented at the service with some, living locally to the church, confirming to me yesterday that they will be attending.Paul Coates has also confirmed that a Ralph Coates Foundation is to be set up. "In memory of my dad, the family are setting up 'The Ralph Coates Foundation' which will be used to continue Ralph's support of local charities," he said."Rather than sending flowers, the family would welcome donations to his fund and cheques can be made payable to Austin's Funeral Service (marked Ralph Coates Foundation on the back) or people can donate to the retiring collection at the church service."Cheques should be sent to the funeral directors at 96 Bancroft, Hitchin, Hertfordshire, SG5 1NQ.
