Quiet Championship week with little change

30 January 2011 23:02
WIth just five games played, and only three of the top six - QPR, Norwich and Nottingham Forest - in action there has been little change this week in the Championship. Both QPR and Norwich drew 0-0 yesterday but Norwich's point was enough to see them go second ahead of Cardiff. The only other game scheduled for yesterday was Preston's game at Scunthorpe. Little surprise to see that one called off after the mess of a pitch there froze.Millwall had won on the Friday and that took them back above us after we'd gone up two places on Tuesday; Leicester the other team we climbed above. The Championship hasn't faired particularly well in the FA Cup either. Reading have joined us in the fifth round but all the other 22 Championship clubs have now gone out. It's back to league action this week with two full sets of fixtures. The first, Tuesday night's games, are behind with the results and stats from this week, the league's leading scorers and each club's disciplinary record. The Week's ResultsTuesday 25th JanuaryDoncaster 0 Barnsley 2Portsmouth 1 Burnley 2Nottingham Forest 1 Bristol City 0.Friday 28th JanuaryMillwall 2 Barnsley 0.Saturday 29th JanuaryCrystal Palace 0 Norwich 0Scunthorpe v Preston - PostponedHull 0 QPR 0.The Week's StatsBiggest winBarnsley 2-0 v Doncaster (away)Millwall v Barnsley (home)Total goals scored8 (4 home - 4 away)Player scoring most goals2 - Danny Haynes (Barnsley)Highest Attendance20,601 - Hull v QPRLowest Attendance10,087 - Millwall v BarnsleyTotal Yellow Cards8Total Red Cards0Most cards in a gameCrystal Palace v Norwich (3Y) - Danny McDermidThe leading scorers (league only)15Danny Graham (Watford) - includes 1 penalty14Jay Bothroyd (Cardiff)13Luciano Becchio (Leeds)Kriss Commons (Derby) - includes 2 penaltiesAdel Taarabt (QPR) - includes 5 penalties12Billy Sharp (Doncaster) - includes 4 penalties11Shane Long (Reading) - includes 4 penaltiesSteve Morison (Millwall) - includes 1 penaltyScott Sinclair (Swansea) - includes 3 penalties10Grant Holt (Norwich)Chris Iwelumo (Burnley)Lewis McGugan (Nottingham Forest) - includes 2 penaltiesMarvin Sordell (Watford)9Max Gradel (Leeds) - includes 1 penaltyAndy King (Leicester)Jamie Mackie (QPR) 8Ched Evans (Sheffield United) - includes 1 penaltyAdam Hammill (Barnsley)James Hayter (Doncaster)Wes Hoolahan (Norwich) - includes 4 penaltiesJon Parkin (Cardiff) - includes 7 goals for PrestonBrett Pitman (Bristol City) - includes 3 penaltiesDavide Somma (Leeds)Hat Tricks (league only)11th Sep3 - Chris Iwelumo - BURNLEY v Preston14th Sep3 - James Coppinger - DONCASTER v Norwich14th Sep3 - James Vaughan - CRYSTAL PALACE v Portsmouth28th Sep3 - Jon Parkin - Leeds v PRESTON30th Oct3 - Jonny Howson - Scunthorpe v LEEDS13th Nov3 - Luciano Becchio - LEEDS v Bristol City27th Nov3 - Grant Holt - NORWICH v Leeds28th Dec3 - Wes Hoolahan - NORWICH v Sheffield United1st Jan3 - Jason Puncheon - MILLWALL v Crystal PalaceDisciplinary Record (all domestic games)ClubYRClubYRBarnsley402Middlesbrough381Bristol City412Millwall414Burnley534Norwich473Cardiff351Nottingham Forest400Coventry463Portsmouth515Crystal Palace465Preston595Derby502QPR454Doncaster333Reading423Hull542Scunthorpe271Ipswich454Sheffield United425Leeds582Swansea482Leicester342Watford280The Next FixturesTuesday 1st FebruaryBarnsley v PrestonHull v LeedsBristol City v SwanseaMiddlesbrough v ScunthorpeCardiff v ReadingNorwich v MillwallCoventry v Nottingham ForestQPR v Portsmouth (20:00)Derby v IpswichSheffield United v LeicesterDoncaster v BurnleyWatford v Crystal Palace
