QPR pair take monthly awards
The Football League monthly awards have been announced and the Championship Manager and Player of the Month Awards for August have both gone to current league leaders Queens Park Rangers. Neil Warnock - August Manager of the MonthWith three wins and a draw, Neil Warnock is the August Manager of the Month. Burnley are currently in fifth place in the table but it was the managers of the top four clubs who were nominated.Alongside Warnock were Dave Jones (Cardiff), Roy Keane (Ipswich) and Kenny Jackett (Millwall), and it was Warnock, who has admitted to their start to the season being unexpected, who came out on top.Warnock has been constantly singing the praises of Adel Taarabt, one of his summer signings, who arrived from Spurs, and he's taken the players' award for the first month of the season.He fought off competition from Jay Bothroyd (Cardiff), Paul Robinson (Millwall) and Kasper Schmeichel (Leeds). Taarabt has been in good form and to add to his performances has also scored two goals in their four league games to date.
