Premier League 2014/15 club preview: Burnley

02 July 2014 08:37

So, I think most football people will agree that the job that Sean Dyche has done at Burnley is nothing short of magical. Their final game at Wigan ended in victory which secured them top flight football once again.

They are certainly proving active in the transfer market and have already snapped up Michael Kightly who spent a very successful stay at Turf Moor last season helping them win promotion.

Dyche, (who looks like someone you would not want to upset!) is going to require his players to gel and grab the bull by the horns if they are not to repeat their one season stay as they did back in 2010. Keeping (and hoping he continues his fine goal scoring form) Danny Ings is potentially pivotal to how their season will unfold.

Linked with:

Marvin Sordell, Nicklas Bendtner, Richard Keogh, Craig Bryson

So Who?

Funnily enough, if it comes off, Bendtner could (key word ‘could’) be the biggest asset to keeping Burnley in the league. Can seemingly be pretentious and a little lackadaisical, but at least he has Premiership pedigree and MAY just fancy showing people that he is a man who can also play football. He has shown that he knows where the back of the net is. At Burnley, he would be the big fish and that is probably what he needs to stroke his ego. Could easily go the other way! However, I refer to my earlier comment and my money would be on Dyche nipping any fancy dan antics in the bud!
