Marvin Bartley, the clear winner of both in the previous game against Southampton, was again the winner of the man of the match vote after another outstanding midfield performance. This time his share of the vote was 24.6% and he was one of three players to win over a fifth of the vote.
The others were Kieran Trippier, who came second with a 22.3% share, and Junior Stanislas who took third place after winning 20.8% of the vote.
The result was somewhat different with the player ratings where two goal Jay Rodriguez came out with the highest rating. HIs 8.09 out of 10 was enough to give him first place ahead of captain Chris McCann who took second place with a rating of 8.02, just ahead of Stanislas who was again third with a rating of 8.00 out of 10.
It meant the points towards the player of the year were shared between those five players. Bartley and Rodriguez both won 3 points with 2 each for McCann, Stanislas and Trippier.
It's taken Rodriguez into a clear second place, six points behind leader Trippier, and Bartley has now moved ahead of Charlie Austin into third place.
