Martin Paterson and Robbie Blake were the two players who took the honours from our home games last week against Stoke City and Wolverhampton Wanderers. It was Paterson's night in the 1-1 draw against Stoke a week last night. He turned in a good performance and crowned it with the cross for David Nugent to score the equaliser.Pato won both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on the message board. For the man of the match he won 38.0% of the vote whilst Tyrone Mears took second place with 14.4% with Chris Eagles coming third with 11.1% of the vote.In the player ratings, Paterson had a rating of 7.46 out of 10 with a close fight for second place. Kevin McDonald, on as a substitute at half time for Jack Cork, nicked it with a rating of 7.05, just ahead of Mears whose rating was 7.04 out of 10.Onto the Wolves game, and Blake, on as a substitute early in the second half, emulated Paterson by winning both. He polled 52.0% of the vote with Paterson again collecting points by taking second place with 11.1%. Eagles was again third with 10.4% of the vote.Amazingly the three substitutes came out on top in the player ratings. Stephen Jordan came on during the first half for the injured Danny Fox whilst Blake came on nine minutes after the break along with Steven Thompson.Blake was the winner with a rating of 7.12 out of 10. Thompson's rating of 6.55 gave him second place with Jordan taking the third place with a rating of 6.43 out of 10.Paterson wins eight points from the two games towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year and Blake gets six points. There are three for Mears, two each for Eagles, McDonald and Thompson with one point for Jordan. The points have made very little difference to the Player of the Year Table other than to stretch Eagles' lead over Steven Fletcher at the top to fifteen points. The Current Table65: Chris Eagles50: Steven Fletcher40: Andre Bikey35: Tyrone Mears32: Brian Jensen26: Clarke Carlisle16: Stephen Jordan & Kevin McDonald14: Wade Elliott & Martin Paterson13: David Nugent10: Graham Alexander, Robbie Blake & Michael Duff9: Jack Cork8: David Edgar7: Leon Cort6: Fernando Guerrero5: Chris McCann4: Danny Fox & Joey Gudjonsson2: Diego Penny & Steven Thompson1: Steven Caldwell
