October Goal of the Month Time

09 November 2011 11:22
For the next three days you can vote for Burnley's October Goal of the Month with a choice of six goals scored against Millwall, Coventry City and Blackpool. Andre Amougou - September winner

The opening goal was the winner at Millwall from Jay Rodriguez on the first day of the month but we had to wait another three games for the next goals as we failed to score against both Reading and Barnsley.

Then came the two at Coventry; Ross Wallace's equaliser as he finished with a shot into the top corner after Charlie Austin had stepped over the ball and then Austin himself with the winner in stoppage time following a right wing corner.

Another blank at Cardiff followed before we ended the month with a 3-1 win against Blackpool. Both Austin and Wallace got a second goal of the month. Austin, this time, got the first, heading home a Junior Stanislas cross and Wallace scored with a stunning free kick to double the lead in the first half.

Marvin Bartley, with his first goal for the club, completing the scoring for the day and the month when he scored off the post after being set up by Austin's run and cross down the right wing.

The voting poll can be found on the front page or via the VOTING POLLS page and will run until the end of Friday.

The winning goal will be automatically entered into the Goal of the Season vote at the end of the season and will be joined by the previous monthly winners which both came in the Carling cup; Austin v Burton Albion and Andre Amougou v MK Franchise.
