October Goal of the Month - six goals to choose from

03 November 2010 09:51
Voting is underway for Burnley's October Goal of the Month and there are a choice of six goals from those scored against Millwall, Sheffield United, Barnsley, Aston Villa and Queens Park Rangers. Chris Iwelumo - September winnerJay Rodriguez got the first goal of the month, giving us a 1-0 lead in that difficult game at Millwall when we played virtually the whole game with ten men.Jay was also a scorer at Sheffield United in the next game, getting the third. Dean Marney was also on the scoresheet in that game, breaking the deadlock just after half time. Our second goal that day came from the penalty spot and as such is one of three October goals not included.Chris Eagles and Chris Iwelumo, our monthy winners so far this season, both scored in the next home game against Barnsley. Eagles got two, but again one of them was a penalty and as such is not included.Clarke Carlisle was the last player to claim a place with his late equaliser in the Carling Cup tie against Aston Villa and Graham Alexander's equaliser at QPR on Saturday was the third penalty scored during the month. That's a total of six goals to choose from - two from Rodriguez and one each from Marney, Eagles, Iwelumo and Carlisle. The voting will run until the end of Friday and one of these goals will be added to those scored by Chris Eagles (v Morecambe) and Chris Iwelumo's second in the 4-3 win against Preston in the Goal of the Season vote.As always the voting poll is on the front page of the site.
