Former Claret Garreth O'Connor is now playing his football in Australia after signing for Stirling Lions of Perth a few weeks ago. The Lions play in the Football West Premier League which is one level below the 'A' League and O'Connor signed for them recently and made his debut against Cockburn City early last month.O'Connor said after his first game: "President Don Evans and everyone at the club have been really friendly and helpful, and I've settled in really well. We have a good squad and they are a great bunch of lads as well."He was snapped up on the advice of Lions' defender Jason Gavin of which O'Connor said: "My move to the Lions came about through Jason, who I played with in the same side in Ireland. I sent Don a video of me playing in England and the rest is history as they say."I'm really enjoying Perth, it is so different to back home, I love the weather and the beaches. But I did find my debut against Cockburn tough going as I'm a bit short of match fitness and the warm weather is something I'm not used to. It might take me another few weeks to get used to it."
