Nugent happy to bide his time
22 Jan 2010 - 09:40:27
On-loan striker David Nugent has told Burnley he will not consider making a permanent move to Turf Moor until the end of the season.
Nugent joined the Clarets on loan from Portsmouth in August and has scored three goals in 20 appearances so far this season.
Newly-installed manager Brian Laws is keen to land the 24-year-old frontman on a permanent basis.
However, Nugent has told the Clarets that he will only consider a permanent move away from the south coast club in the summer.
"He wants to stay here for the rest of the season," explained Laws.
"He wants to leave everything about his future until the end of the season and concentrate on playing.
"We are trying to talk to Portsmouth to sort out some kind of deal but that is taking its time at the moment."
