Burnley manager Brian Laws has completed the signing of AS Monaco's France Under-21 international striker Frederic Nimani.
The 21-year-old moves to Turf Moor on a five-month loan agreement with a view to a possible permanent deal in the summer.
Nimani, who came through Monaco's youth team set-up and was wanted by three other top-flight clubs including Birmingham City, scored seven times for his club last term but was restricted to only two starts this season.
The Marseille-born forward also has first-team experience form loan spells with FC Lorient and Sedan.
Earlier in the week, Laws had hinted that he wanted to strengthen his squad, saying: "We're doing everything in our power to bring in good players to strengthen the team as quickly as we possibly can.
"Strengthening the team is going to be paramount, there's no turning back after that window closes. There are no loans after that, it has to be done and we have to do it very quickly.
"I want to make some changes. I want to bring some new faces in to strengthen the team and to give me better options.
"Whether it be a striker, midfield player, centre-half, full-back, goalkeeper, you name it, I'm looking at everyone. And there'll be no stone left unturned."
