New deal for ex-Claret

Former Burnley striker Andy Gray will be staying with Barnsley next season after agreeing a one year extension to his contract yesterday. Gray joined Barnsley in the summer of 2009 and has notched 13 league goals for them in the last two seasons. He signed a two year deal at the time with a one year option that he's agreed to sign and which will be completed at the beginning of July. It's three and a half years since Gray's acrimonious departure from Turf Moor when he made the move to Charlton in a deal worth up to £2 million. Things didn't work as planned there as Charlton suffered relegation in his only full season at the Valley whilst he suffered personal problems.Still, he finished the season by turning up to Wembley to support the Clarets before moving back north with Barnsley. Gray will be looking to get on the scoresheet early next season; he's just two short of having scored a hundred league goals.
