More changes in the hot seat

Just when you thought that it was all settling down we've had another two managers leave their jobs at Championship clubs Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City, one pushed and one making his own way out of the exit door. Little Billy Davies has been sacked at Nottingham Forest this afternoon and that news has really come as no surprise. I learned from someone close to the club recently that it was only the chairman keeping him there and that, should they fail to win promotion, there was a really good chance of him going. It looked to have passed by without action but Forest have made their move to day and are already in talks with former England manager Steve McClaren regarding the vacancy. Meanwhile, over at St. Andrew's, Alex McLeish, fresh from bringing Birmingham down from the Premier League, has opted to walk out at his club. Speculation is that he might be under consideration for the Aston Villa job and if that's the case he might have to walk too far. McLeish had been in charge of Birmingham since November 2007 and was the third longest serving manager in the league, behind Sean O'Driscoll and Kenny Jackett at Doncaster and Millwall respectively. Incredibly, of the 24 clubs set to play in the Championship next season, no less than 14 of them have now had at least one change of manager since the start of the 2010/11 season.
