Miller to take charge at Cardiff

26 October 2012 18:54
Nigel Miller, from County Durham, will referee Burnley's Championship game at Cardiff tomorrow afternoon.

This will be Miller's 13th Burnley game since he first refereed us in a home game against West Brom in the 2003/04 season, and in some of those games he's turned in some shocking performances.

In August 2005 it was probably Coventry who had the most complaints with him as we won 4-0 but his performances in our away games at Bury and Queens Park Rangers, within a few weeks of each other in 2004, and at Barnsley in November 2008, as well as the home game against Reading in 2010 will not be remembered fondly by Burnley supporters.

What we can say is that the now 52 year old official didn't have too bad a games last season when he refereed both our home game against Ipswich and our away fixture at Doncaster. Such were his performances that he went up from a rating of 41.62 to 54.76 out of 100 in RATE THE REF which has taken him up from 50th to 41st place.

This season he's refereed 12 games in total, five of them in the Championship. There haven't been any red cards but he's not had a card free game and there have been a total of 38 yellow cards of which 11 have gone to home team players and 27 to away team players.

Last time out, on Tuesday of this week, he refereed Leeds' 1-1 home draw against Charlton. Luciano Becchio of Leeds was yellow carded as were Rob Hulse, Bradley Pritchard, Johnnie Jackson and Bradley Wright-Phillips.

The assistant referees tomorrow are Andy Hendley (West Midlands) and Christopher Powell (Dorset). The fourth official is Adam Nunn (Wiltshire).
