Michael aiming to prove he's not a Duffer

Burnley defender Michael Duff is aiming to revitalise his career under new boss Eddie Howe. Duff, 32, was recalled at the start of the month by caretaker-boss Stuart Gray after being dropped by former manager Brian Laws. Now the Northern Ireland international, in his seventh season at the club, hopes to make a good first impression on Howe, who has been appointed as the new Clarets manager on a three-and-a-half- year deal. "A new manager is a boost because it is a clean slate and everybody will try and impress him," said Duff. "Football is one of those industries where people come and go. "They have their opinions of you and whether they want you to play for them or they don't."
