Events have overtaken us in the last few days and this result, initially due on Thursday, was delayed but we can now finally get up to date with the figures from the Palace game which show Ben Mee winning for the second time this season, following on from the home game against Millwall a week earlier.
He's won both the man of the match vote and the player ratings, and won both by a decent margin, and this despite polling just 31.7% of the man of the match vote. That was comfortably ahead of Martin Paterson, scorer of our second goal, who was second with a 15.9% share.
Charlie Austin, scoring yet again, and goalkeeper Lee Grant, despite conceding four goals, were joint second, each with 11.7% of the vote.
The player ratings had a different look to them other than Mee coming out on top again. His rating of 7.29 out of 10, the only one above the seven rating for a good performance, saw him win it ahead of Austin whose rating was 6.82
Only two other players reached the average score of six and they took the other point scoring places. Junior Stanislas, who impressed particularly in the first half, was third with a rating of 6.18 and Chris McCann's six out of ten gave him fourth place.
This result gives Mee ten points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year. Austin wins five points, Paterson has three points. There are two points each for Grant and Stanislas with McCann collecting one point.
It makes little difference at the top of the table with Austin and Grant strengthening their respective positions in the top two, but Mee has now moved into third place, one point ahead of Dean Marney.
The goal of the month vote for September has now ended and the result will be reported soon. The voting now underway, following yesterday's confirmation of Howe's departure, gives you the opportunity to vote for your choice of new manager from a selection of fifteen.
