Mears wants move

Former Manchester City, Preston, West Ham and Derby right back Tyrone Mears is reported this morning to want out of Burnley and is looking for a move back to the Premier League after just one year at Turf Moor. Mears joined the Clarets last summer in a £500,000 transfer from Derby and became our first Premier League signing when he signed a three year contract. But following relegation, Mears wants to stay in the Premier League and is keen for a move and is hoping Burnley will not make that move difficult by demanding too big a fee for him.It is believed there has not been too much interest, if any, in Mears since the end of the season and hed like Burnley to ask no more than a million for him to allow him a better chance of moving on.That, he considers, would also give the Clarets a profit on him after a year with the club.Mears played all of our Premier League games last season, in fact was on the pitch for all ninety minutes of every game. He was certainly expected to be part of Brian Laws's plans for next season with Richard Eckersley currently the only other right back at the club although Michael Duff, more recently preferred at centre half, can play there.
