Burnley have agreed a fee, reportedly in the region of £500,000, for Mears, who spent last season on loan at French giants Marseille. He interrupted a family holiday to discuss the switch to Turf Moor with Clarets boss Owen Coyle on Thursday and is now ready to sign a contract. Mears' representative Willie McKay confirmed the talks were positive and that the former Preston man is looking forward to joining the Premier League new boys. "Tyrone looked around the place and spoke to Owen. It went well," McKay told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "He's back on Monday and will probably sign on Monday. "He's happy with what Owen Coyle has had to tell him. He's happy with the way he wanted to play and the way Burnley are going to play."
