Mears misses Lancashire derby
urnley manager Brian Laws will be without defender Tyrone Mears for the home clash with derby rivals Preston on Saturday (5:15pm).[LNB] The right-back was sent off in the 1-0 defeat at Swansea and now serves a one-match ban, with David Edgar in line to deputise.[LNB]But Michael Duff is closing in on a return to full fitness having sustained a calf problem on the opening day against Nottingham Forest.[LNB]Striker Chris Iwelumo missed Scotland's double header against Lithuania and Liechtenstein after suffering a hamstring injury late in the defeat to Swansea.[LNB]He will also be assessed, but Laws is hopeful both Iwelumo and Duff will be passed fit for action.[LNB]Midfielder Chris McCann remains a long-term absentee with a knee injury.
