Mears looking to Black Cats clash

The chastening defeat at Anfield completed a tricky opening round of Premier League fixtures for the Clarets, who have had mixed success against the likes of Manchester United, Everton and Chelsea. Owen Coyle's side face Sunderland at Turf Moor in their next league game with a creditable six points under their belts, and Mears believes everything the club has gained so far should be viewed as a bonus. "I don't think we are going to be judged on those games," Mears told the club's official website. "They are really good games to play in and you are playing against the best players in the world. "But it's the next game coming up and teams like that, with no disrespect, that we need to be taking points off. "We should have been sitting with zero points at the bottom but we've got six points and now these are the games we are going to be judged on. Hopefully picking up points against the teams that are going to be around us will keep us up."
