McGreal fears for Clarets

Burnley face an anxious wait before finding out the severity of John McGreal's knee injury suffered in Tuesday's 0-0 draw against Southend. The veteran defender was substituted just before half-time at Turf Moor and boss Steve Cotterill is hopeful that the injury is nothing too serious ahead of the long trek to Plymouth this weekend. He told the club's official website: "John twisted his knee and we don't know the extent of it yet. There hasn't been any immediate swelling, so we will just have to wait and see how that one is. "I think he just spun around and sometimes your studs get caught. He might have tweaked his medial ligament, but he is a tough boy and we will see how he is ahead of Saturday." Meanwhile, Cotterill was frustrated with the stalemate against the Shrimpers but felt neither side were worthy winners. He added: "I think a draw was a fair result. We were the better team in the first half and they were the better team after the break."
