Burnley manager Brian Laws has told Kevin McDonald he has no future at Turf Moor and also hopes to let two more fringe players leave the Clarets.
The 21-year-old Scottish midfielder has not started a league game this season and was fined by Laws after he left the ground at half-time following his substitution in the 6-1 home defeat by Manchester City in April.
Laws said: "We've had one or two enquiries but nobody's stepped forward. There are one or two more who need to get out on loan. We've got good back-up and we need to keep them fit for anything that happens to the first XI.
"The international break has put things on the back burner but I expect maybe some movement next week once this weekend is out of the way.
"It's down to Kevin. We all recognise what a talented player he is. He's got all the tools in the box. He just sometimes doesn't know the combination to get the tools out.
"It will click with him one day and he'll be a fabulous player. At the moment we're only seeing fragments of it."
