McDonald to stay at Scunthorpe

Kevin McDonald will remain with Scunthorpe for another month after the two clubs agreed to the loan deal being extended today. Having signed for Scunthorpe last month to get some games, McDonald found himself ruled out for the first three weeks with a back problem that had been troubling him in his last reserve team appearance for the Clarets a couple of days earlier. He wasn't able to make his Scunthorpe debut until a week ago when he came on as a substitute in their home defeat against Middlesbrough and then he went on to make his first start last Saturday, playing the full ninety minutes and scoring against Cardiff.Iron boss Ian Baraclough said he wanted to extend the loan and would talk to both the player and to Burnley boss Brian Laws. The result of those talks is that McDonald will now continue with Scunthorpe for a further month and will finally be able to get those games under his belt now he's fully fit.
