McCarthy on Burnley radar

Burnley are the latest side to declare an interest in James McCarthy, according to the teenage midfielder's current club Hamilton Academical.
McCarthy, 18, has been linked with moves to Celtic and Portsmouth following a breakthrough last season in the Scottish Premier League after which was named Scottish PFA Young Player of the Year.
Accies are reported to have turned down two £1million bids for the youngster since the end of the season, but Burnley have now made their interest known.
However, the SPL club are confident of keeping hold of the highly-rated teenager.
"I don't deny Burnley have made enquiries about James but it's not right for us at the minute. We know how important an asset he is to us," manager Billy Reid told The Scotsman.
"There has always been interest in James, it's the nature of the game and we keep him informed at all times.
"I expect to see him at the start of pre-season training next week."
