Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is making steady progress in his recovery from a serious knee injury. The highly-rated Irishman underwent reconstructive surgery in the summer to repair the damage which wrecked his season last term. McCann has since been working hard on a programme of rehabilitation and has been given the green light to step up his training programme by a specialist. "I was basically in and out and he was really pleased with what he saw," said McCann. "He said he was really surprised at how well it's doing. There's a lot of muscle come back there already, which is probably the main thing I have to work on. "It's going really well and hopefully that continues."
