Mansfield would like O'Neill return
Luke O'Neill, from Mansfield, was one of Burnley's summer signings in 2012 but, as yet, the right back hasn't been able to break into the first team at Turf Moor with his only appearance coming in the cup tie against Plymouth in August.
Although there has been no contact between the clubs, Mansfield boss Paul Cox is keen to take O'Neill back to Field Mill on loan although he has admitted that, as yet, there has been no dialogue with the Clarets.
"I have got to be respectful and see what his situation is there, Cox said. "Luke was here at the Liverpool game and all the lads keep in touch with him. He wants to play football and wants to go out on loan, but I have not been in touch with Burnley yet. I am just keeping my eye on it."
Meanwhile, news last night linked Burnley with Reading's Simon Church. The forward has recently been out on loan at Huddersfield. He's out of contract in the summer and has already been the subject of interest from Millwall.
Having been out on loan at Crewe, Yeovil and Wycombe, he made his Reading debut against the Clarets when he was given a starting role against us in the second leg of the 2008/09 play off semi-final, giving Christian Kalvenes a difficult first half.
He's gone on to make 104 league appearances for the Royals, of which 55 are starts and he's scored 22 goals in those games. Capped by Wales, he hasn't featured in the Premier League this season.
