Mahon committed to Clarets

Burnley midfielder Alan Mahon has pledged his immediate future to the Turf Moor club, despite having struggled to break into the first-team picture this season.

The 30-year-old left-sided former Republic of Ireland international has recently been linked with a switch to Ipswich Town, but Mahon insists his only focus is on helping the Clarets build on their impressive start to the campaign.

He told Sky Sports: "At the moment I'm concentrating fully on doing my best for Burnley, but my contract finishes this summer and when that time comes I'll have a look what is available to me.

"It's hard for any senior player to be left out of the side, but the guys playing in my position are doing well and it is a team effort.

"We are all pulling in the same direction, but hopefully I'll get a few more games under my belt.

"If not, I'll just keep working hard to break back into the side and continue to cheer the other lads on."
