It's that time of year again with the transfer window just days from opening and today, with Sheffield United and Norwich, we've been linked, in the unreliable Daily Mail I have to say, with Carlisle striker Gary Madine. The 20-year-old Madine has netted 13 goals this season for Carlisle, his first goals in league football, having previously had loan spells with Rochdale, Coventry and Chesterfield.It is said that we, and the other two clubs, are monitoring the 6ft 5ins striker who was apparetnly interesting Newcastle boss Chris Hughton in the summer.
